Explore Montana: Climbing Kootenai Canyon in the Bitterroot
Kootenai Canyon is rumored to be a solid shrend spot in Montana’s Bitterroot mountain range. Based on my understanding, to shrend (verb) is an epic combination of simultaneous shredding and sending of a mountain feature. According to Michael (below in Jungle Book t-shirt), occurred on this particular adventure.
eaturing both sport and trad climbing, this area is allegedly one of Missoula’s most popular climbing sites. Its trailhead parking lot can be reached via Kootenai Creek Road located just north of Montana’s first community (i.e. Stevensville) off Highway 93.
