Blue Mountain Missoula

Blue Mountain Recreation Area in Missoula is either a 4,900-acre recreation area that includes 41 miles of system trails (according to USDA Forest Service) or a 5,500-acre one (according to the Missoulian). It’s located just south of town on Blue Mountain Road off of Highway 93 (turn right at The Peak) and is one of Missoula’s major play areas. All sorts of rifle hunting (including small game and wild birds) is allowed in parts, so check the Forest Service site for details and don’t get shot. The Missoulian link above has a nice recreation map.
The other day, Dennae and I brought these two up here.
